Many issues related to the diagnosis and management of beta-lactam drug allergy still await definitive recommendations. To determine how practicing allergists deal with some of these dilemmas, a questionnaire was mailed to 3500 physician members and fellows of the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology. It was also sent to each of the allergy training program directors in the United States to determine what is currently taught to fellows in training.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe afferent and efferent connections of the dorsal tegmental nucleus (DTN) were studied in the rat using axoplasmic transport techniques. Horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and Fast Blue were injected stereotaxically into either pars centralis or pars ventromedialis of the DTN, two subdivisions of the nucleus with distinctive connections. The pars centralis is reciprocally connected with the ipsilateral lateral mammillary and interpeduncular nuclei; these projections constitute the major afferent and efferent systems of the DTN.
