The purification procedure included initial extraction of the protein in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide followed by chromatography on carboxymethyl-cellulose and Sephadex G-100. The thus obtained protein was found to be homogeneous on polyacrylamide gel (PAAG) electrophoresis at acidic values of pH.
