New and Confirmed Combinations of New World Bruchinae (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) with a List of incertae sedis Species.

We identify 94 species of New World Bruchinae (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) that have not been revised since original publications that predate the establishment of current bruchine genera. Many of these have appeared in catalogs or checklists and have been transferred to genera without inspection of primary type specimens. We were able to inspect the primary types of 77 of these species; we provide new combinations for 38 and confirm previous combinations made in catalogs for an addition 39.

Extensive Local Geographic Variation in Locoweed Toxin Produced by a Fungal Endophyte.

Legumes are notorious for coevolutionary arms races where chemical defenses are employed to ward off herbivores-particularly insect seed predators. Locoweeds are legumes containing the toxic alkaloid swainsonine which can poison livestock, but its role as a deterrent for insects is unknown. Swainsonine is produced by the fungal endophyte Alternaria section Undifilum, and the chemical composition of the toxin has been well characterized.

Comparing pill counts and patient self-reports versus DBS tenofovir concentrations as ART adherence measurements with virologic outcomes and HIV drug resistance in a cohort of adolescents and young adults failing ART in Harare, Zimbabwe.

Background: Monitoring adherence presents a challenge in adolescents and it is prudent to explore several options for determining their level of adherence. This study sought to determine ART adherence levels in adolescents and young adults (on a tenofovir-containing regimen) failing ART as measured by self-reports, pill counts and DBS tenofovir concentrations and to compare levels of agreement among the methods and determine the ability of each method to predict virological suppression.

Methods: This was a cohort study involving 107 adolescents and young adults between 10 and 24 years failing ART with viral load > 400copies/ml at enrolment.

Why do Stayers Stay? Perceptions of White and Black Long-Term Employees in a Community Mental Health Center.

Previous research has focused on factors influencing turnover of employees in the mental health workforce, yet little research has explored reasons why employees stay. To facilitate retaining a diverse mental health workforce, the current study aimed to elucidate factors that contributed to employees' tenure at a community mental health center (CHMC) as well as compare these perceptions between Black and White employees. Long-term employees (7 years or more) from one urban CMHC (n = 22) completed semi-structured stayer interviews.

Perspectives on Injectable HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis: A Qualitative Study of Health Care Providers in the United States.

The introduction of injectable HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) has the potential to significantly change the biomedical HIV prevention landscape. However, effective implementation will require health care providers to adopt, prescribe, and administer injectable PrEP within clinical settings. This study qualitatively examined challenges and benefit of injectable PrEP implementation from the perspective of health care providers.
