Rural/urban disparities in cocaine use treatment are commonly attributed to variations in social epidemiological constructs, such as socioeconomic status and well-being, social capital and support, and discrimination, as well as health care attitudes and health beliefs. We hypothesized that SZC use for emergent hyperkalaemia would be associated with a reduction in rates of emergency interventions for hyperkalaemia.
Methods: This was a single-centre, propensity score-weighted case-control study of patients admitted with hyperkalaemia to a specialist renal centre.
