What Do We Know About Speech-Language-Hearing Practice in Vocal Care for Transgender People? A Scoping Review.

Objective: To systematically assess the current state of speech-language-hearing (SLH) practices in health services addressing vocal care for transgender individuals, aiming to identify key themes and gaps in the existing body of knowledge.

Methods: This scoping review was based on the Joanna Briggs Institute manual and followed the recommendations of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses-Extension for Scoping Reviews. It was registered with the Open Science Framework Open Source 10.

Development of chitosan-based films with invertase enzyme for active packaging: Physicochemical parameters, structure, application, and storage.

The use of active packaging made from biodegradable polymers can contribute to the environment and to the food industry by increasing the shelf life of their products. This study aimed to produce chitosan-based films incorporated with the invertase enzyme (1, 2, 5, 9, and 10 %) as an alternative to avoid sucrose crystallization in the confectionery industry. The optimum activity of the invertase enzyme was observed at 55 °C and pH 5, thus, the films made with the film-forming solution adjusted to pH 5 and dried at 55 °C were compared with those without pH adjustment and dried at room temperature.

Social network for guardians of transgender children and adolescents.

Objective: To analyze the social network of mothers, fathers or guardians of transgender children or adolescents.

Methods: This was a qualitative study, based on the theoretical framework of social network, with a focus on the primary network. The study was conducted in Brazil through online interviews between August and October 2021.

Case report: Additional grounds for tighter regulation? A case series of five women with zolpidem dependence from a Brazilian women-specific substance use disorder outpatient service.

Objective: This study presents a case series of five women with zolpidem dependence treated at the Drug Dependent Women Treatment Center (PROMUD), one of the first women-specific substance use disorder outpatient services in Latin America.

Methods: This was an retrospective review of medical records of patients with a diagnosis of zolpidem dependence at the Institute of Psychiatry of Clinics Hospital of University of São Paulo between December 2021 and December 2023. Description of the cases followed the Case Report Statement, Checklist and Guidelines (CARE).

Chemical Characterization, Antioxidant Potential and Phenolic Profile of the Pulp and By-Products of Black puçá (Mouriri pusa), a Fruit from the Brazilian Cerrado region.

The black puçá (Mouriri pusa) is an unconventional fruit from the Cerrado region of Brazil, commonly known as the jabuticaba of the forest. However, data on its nutritional and phytochemical composition are limited. This study investigated the nutritional composition, physicochemical characteristics, profile of carbohydrates and organic acids, phenolics and flavonoids individual, amino acids composition, bioactive substances, and antioxidant potential in the pulp, peel, and seed fractions of puçá-preto.
