The personalised project in a residential facility for dependent elderly people makes it possible, through appropriate support for the person in question, to take account of his or her identity and autonomy, by recognising him or her in his or her uniqueness as a capable person, in a co-construction process that reinforces the person's  right. It is also a lever for valuing and recognising individual and collective skills for the health care manager and gives meaning to the work of the carers.

Photoactive Donor-Acceptor Composite Nanoparticles Dispersed in Water.

A major issue that inhibits the large-scale fabrication of organic solar modules is the use of chlorinated solvents considered to be toxic and hazardous. In this work, composite particles of poly[N-9'-heptadecanyl-2,7-carbazole-alt-5,5-(4,7-di-2-thienyl-2',1',3'-benzothiadiazole] (PCDTBT) and [6,6]-phenyl C71 butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) were obtained in water from a versatile and a ready-to-market methodology based on postpolymerization miniemulsification. Depending on the experimental conditions, size-controlled particles comprising both the electron donor and the electron acceptor were obtained and characterized using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), small-angle neutron scattering (SANS), UV-visible absorption, and fluorescence spectroscopy.

Serotype distribution and antibiotic resistance of Streptococcus pneumoniae strains isolated from adults in France: evolution between 2001 and 2003.

Antibiotic-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae (Sp) are described around the world. The present national surveillance study report analyzes more than 6000 Sp strains, isolated from adults across France in 2001 and 2003, from blood cultures (3086 in 2001 and 3164 in 2003), cerebrospinal fluid (respectively, 238 and 240), or middle ear fluid (respectively, 110 and 100). The proportion of isolates with reduced susceptibility to penicillin fell significantly between 2001 and 2003 from 46.

Mycobacterium xenopi pulmonary infections: a multicentric retrospective study of 136 cases in north-east France.

Background: Owing to its low incidence, the management of Mycobacterium xenopi pulmonary infections is not clearly defined. A multicentre retrospective study was performed to describe the features of the disease and to evaluate its prognosis.

Methods: All patients with M xenopi satisfying the 1997 ATS/IDSA criteria from 13 hospitals in north-east France (1983-2003) were included in the study.

Molecular typing and characterization of extended-spectrum TEM, SHV and CTX-M beta-lactamases in clinical isolates of Enterobacter cloacae.

Sixty-one non-repetitive Enterobacter cloacae ESBL producers were collected at the Amiens University Hospital in France. Eight beta-lactam resistance phenotypes (a-h) and three aminoglycoside resistance phenotypes (i-k) were identified among these isolates, and 32 different pulsotypes were observed. Of these 61 isolates, 37 were sequenced and found to harbor beta-lactamases with a pI of 5.
