The Relationship between Exposome and Microbiome.

Currently, exposome studies include a raft of different monitoring tools, including remote sensors, smartphones, omics analyses, distributed lag models, etc. The similarity in structure between the exposome and the microbiota plus their functions led us to pose three pertinent questions from this viewpoint, looking at the actual relationship between the exposome and the microbiota. In terms of the exposome, a bistable equilibrium between health and disease depends on constantly dealing with an ever-changing totality of exposures that together shape an individual from conception to death.

Celery ( L.) Performances as Subjected to Different Sources of Protein Hydrolysates.

The vegetable production sector is currently fronting several issues mainly connected to the increasing demand of high quality food produced in accordance with sustainable horticultural technologies. The application of biostimulants, particularly protein hydrolysates (PHs), might be favorable to optimize water and mineral uptake and plant utilization and to increase both production performance and quality feature of vegetable crops. The present study was carried out on celery plants grown in a tunnel to appraise the influence of two PHs, a plant-derived PH (P-PH), obtained from soy extract and an animal PH (A-PH), derived from hydrolyzed animal epithelium (waste from bovine tanneries) on yield, yield components (head height, root collar diameter, and number of stalks), mineral composition, nutritional and functional features, as well as the economic profitability of PHs applications.

[Nonne-Milroy's syndrome (hereditary lymphedema type I). Report of a clinical case].

The authors report on a case of a 7-days old girls, with Nonne-Milroy syndrome (type I hereditary lynphedema). The clinical picture of this disease is severe but the outcome is usually good. Its etiology, differential diagnosis, therapy and follow-up are discussed.

[Acute hemorrhagic edema in childhood. Report of a clinical case].

The authors report a case of a 23-month old boy, with acute haemorrhagic oedema of infancy. The clinical picture of this rare vasculitis is severe but the outcome is usually good. Its etiology, differential diagnosis and therapy are discussed.

[Group A beta-hemolytic streptococcus infection and varicella].

The case of a 3-year-old boy affected with varicella associated to acute cellulitis by group A beta-hemolytic streptococci is reported. The causes of hospitalization were: high fever, decline of condition, onset of scarlet exanthema and a severe swelling in the inguinoscrotal area, during varicella. The diagnosis of streptococcal infection was confirmed by positive pharyngeal tampon, scarlet exanthema and following rise of ASLO.
