Reduction of PTV margins for elective pelvic lymph nodes in online adaptive radiotherapy of prostate cancer patients.

Background: Cone beam CT (CBCT) based online adaptive radiotherapy (oART) is a new development in radiotherapy. With oART, the requirements for planning target volume (PTV) margins differ from standard therapy because motion occurs during a session. In this study, we aim to evaluate a margin reduction for locally advanced prostate patients treated with oART.

Understanding registered nurses' career choices in home care services: a qualitative study.

Background: The anticipated growth in number of older people with long-term health problems is associated with a greater need for registered nurses. Home care services needs enough nurses that can deliver high quality services in patients' homes. This article improves our understanding of nurses' career choices in home care services.

Using the Eat Sleep Console Model to Promote Optimal Care and Outcomes for Infants With Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome: A Nurse-Driven, Multidisciplinary Initiative.

Background: A nurse led a team of providers in a quality improvement (QI) project to positively impact inpatient care and outcomes for infants with neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS). The Eat Sleep Console (ESC) model was implemented to promote rooming-in and family-centered care as part of a nonpharmacological treatment approach.

Purpose: To compare the ESC model with the traditional Finnegan treatment approach to describe differences in infants' pharmacotherapy use (morphine), length of stay (LOS), weight loss, consumption of mother's own milk by any feeding method within 24 hours of discharge, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) use, and Pediatric Unit utilization.

Making a career in hospitals: Determinants of registered nurses' aspirations to become a manager.

Aim: To examine seven determinants of Registered Nurses' aspirations to become a manager in four Norwegian public hospitals.

Background: Research evidence shows that nurses submit few applications to management positions. Understanding the determinants that influence nurses' aspirations to become managers can provide healthcare organizations with important knowledge on the drivers and barriers in recruitment and on the development of nurse managers.
