Background And Objective: Studying learning curve (LC) for robotic procedures and developing an adequate training program are two fundamental steps to standardize robotic procedures. With this aim, we analyzed the literature to study the LCs of different robotic procedures and the availability of standardized training problems.

Methods: The PubMed database was searched in the period from January 1995 to September 2022.

Article Synopsis
  • The study focused on pediatric patients with anal fistula treated using video-assisted anal fistula treatment (VAAFT) and assessed the effectiveness of ozonide oil for postoperative wound dressing.
  • A total of 33 VAAFT procedures were conducted on 30 children, with a median age of 5.7 years, and the majority of cases were idiopathic in nature.
  • Results indicated that VAAFT is a safe and effective treatment, with a median healing time of 28 days and low recurrence rates, although further studies are needed for more comprehensive conclusions.

Indocyanine green (ICG) is a fluorescent dye used for several indications in adult surgery, and, more recently, adopted also in the pediatric patients. This study aimed to review the literature published on the use of ICG near-infrared fluorescence (NIRF) in pediatric urology, to address its shortcomings and disadvantages and to detect the future perspectives. An electronic literature search of PubMed on all studies reporting use of ICG-NIRF in pediatrics was performed.
