Coronaviruses (CoV) infect a wide variety of hosts, causing epidemics in humans, birds, and mammals over the years. Bats (order Chiroptera) are one of the natural hosts of the Coronaviridae family. They represent 40% of the total number of mammal species in the Pantanal, a biodiversity hotspot in South America.

The Biological Properties of Co-Doped Monetite Are Influenced by Thermal Treatment.

Calcium phosphates, notably monetite, are valued biomaterials for bone applications owing to their osteogenic properties and rapid uptake by bone cells. This study investigates the enhancement of these properties through Cobalt doping, which is known to induce hypoxia and promote bone cell differentiation. Heat treatments at 700°C, 900°C, and 1050°C are applied to both monetite and Cobalt-doped monetite, facilitating the development of purer, more crystalline phases with varied particle sizes and optimized cellular responses.

Balance Changes in Adult Cancer Survivors Participating in a 16-Week Therapeutic Yoga Program.

Introduction: Balance problems arising from cancer and its treatments can significantly impact daily functionality and quality of life. Improving balance as part of a cancer treatment plan could result in better patient outcomes. Thus, the aim of this study was to determine whether an integrative therapeutic yoga intervention can improve balance in a heterogenous population of cancer survivors (CS).

GAIT ASSESSMENT IN ANKLE FRACTURES WITH SYNDESMOSIS LESIONS UNDERGOING SURGERY.

Introduction: The three-dimensional evaluation of patients in the gait laboratory is a diagnostic method that is gaining ground in various orthopedic pathologies and, in the case of ankle fractures, can more accurately detail the degree of joint limitation.

Objective: To present the importance of laboratory gait studies in the postoperative period of ankle fractures associated with syndesmosis ligament injuries, increasing the arsenal for assessing whether the surgical approach and outcome were satisfactory.

Methods: Case series of 13 patients who underwent surgical treatment for ankle fractures associated with syndesmosis injuries, evaluated postoperatively in the gait clinic using the BTS GAITLAB hardware program.
