Anaesthesia for pregnant patients presenting for non-obstetric surgery needs a thorough understanding of the physiological changes and altered pharmacokinetics of pregnancy. Considering the effects of surgery and anaesthesia on the foetus, only essential and emergency surgeries are performed during pregnancy. Surgical procedures in second trimester have the advantage of better foetal outcome.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA series of novel 6-fluoro1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-3-quinoline carboxylic acid dimers were synthesized as potential antibacterial agents from commercially available substituted fluorobenzoic acids. A stability indicating HPLC method was developed to determine these novel fluoroquinolone dimers using a systematic method development approach. Samples were subjected to stress conditions of hydrolysis, oxidation, photolysis and thermal degradation; and analyzed to demonstrate the specificity and stability indicating ability of the developed method.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFp38 Kinase plays a vital role in inflammation mediated by tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNFalpha) and interleukin-1beta (IL-1beta) pathways and inhibitors of p38 kinase provide effective approach for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. Pyridinyl and pyrimidinyl imidazoles, selectively inhibit p38alpha MAP kinase, are useful in the treatment of inflammatory diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. Three dimensional quantitative structure-activity relationship studies (3D-QSAR) involving comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA) and comparative similarity indices analysis (CoMSIA) and molecular docking were performed on 44 phenoxypyrimidinyl imidazole p38 kinase inhibitors to find out the structural relationship with the activity.
