Qualitative study on the use and maintenance of long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) in Bouaké (Côte d'Ivoire), 17 months after the last mass distribution campaign.

Background: The use of long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLINs) is one of the main malaria prevention method promoted by the World Health Organization (WHO) in Côte d'Ivoire. LLIN-coverage has reached 95% since 2015 and nearly 16 million LLINs were distributed in 2017. Despite these efforts, malaria incidence at the national level remains high (120‰ in 2012 to 164‰ in 2017) although this could be partly explained by increased screening efforts.

[Efficacy against Malaria Vectors of Long-Lasting Insecticide-Treated Mosquito Nets after 17 Months of Use in the City of Bouaké, in the Center of Côte d'Ivoire].

Malaria remains a public health problem in Côte d'Ivoire despite a 95% coverage rate with long-lasting insecticide-treated mosquito nets (LLINs) since 2015. A study was conducted in Bouaké to determine the residual efficacy of LLINs used during 17 months (N = 30) and of stored and unpacked LLINs (N = 8). The physical integrity of LLINs and their biological efficacy on populations of Anopheles gambiae (sensitive and resistant to insecticides) were assessed.

[Portal vein: variations of its branches (about 32 dissections)].

Purpose: The aim of this study is to precise the variations of portal vein branches and also to elucidate anatomic basis of partial hepatectomy.

Material And Methods: Thirty-two post-mortem specimens, with ages ranged from one day to sixty-five years in both two sexes, were dissected. Latex and Rhodopas were used for visualizing and drawing the portal vein course and its branches.

The responsibility of the uteropelvic junction (UPJ) syndrome or abnormalities for renal affections and also for high obstructive uropathy is well-known. But, controversies still remain about the anatomic approach of this clinical feature. Our purpose is to elucidate the developmental anatomy of UPJ and eventually to set the steps of the anatomic approach of the UPJ abnormalities.

The levator ano-muscle and fascia are studied by females pelvis. The muscle is composed of three groups of fibres: the puborectalis muscle, the ilococcygeus and the ischiococcygeus muscles. The muscular fascial graft is dissected from the superior fibers of puborectalis muscle and placed in front of the lateral face of the bladder.
