Background: Currently, there are no therapies targeting specific pathogenic pathways in myocarditis. IL (interleukin)-1 blockade has shown promise in preclinical studies and case reports. We hypothesized that blockade of IL1RAP (IL-1 receptor accessory protein), a shared subunit of the IL-1, IL-33, and IL-36 receptors, could be more efficient than IL-1 blockade alone.

Background And Aims: The study sought to examine which biomarkers have the best predictive capabilities for future alcohol-related liver cirrhosis (ARLC) in a general population setting.

Method: This population-based cohort study includes approximately 35% of the inhabitants of Stockholm County who had left a blood sample at an outpatient visit in primary care or occupational health screening from 1985 to 1996. All subjects with a blood sample measurement of alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) were included, exclusions were made for persons with known liver disease.

Acute-phase inhibition of the pro-inflammatory alarmin S100A8/A9 improves cardiac function post-myocardial infarction (MI), but the mechanisms underlying the long-term benefits of this short-term treatment remain to be elucidated. Here, we assessed the effects of S100A8/A9 blockade with the small-molecule inhibitor ABR-238901 on myocardial neovascularization in mice with induced MI. The treatment significantly reduced S100A9 and increased neovascularization in the myocardium, assessed by CD31 staining.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to analyse the surgical management and outcome regarding axial length in the population affected by pseudophakic retinal detachment (PRD) 2015-2020.

Method: The patients included were from an observational cohort study of patients undergoing cataract surgery in the region of Skåne during 2015-2017. Data were retrieved from the Swedish National Cataract Register and cross-referenced with cases of PRD in the same region from 2015 to 2020.

Aims: The interleukin-1 receptor accessory protein (IL1RAP) is a co-receptor required for signalling through the IL-1, IL-33, and IL-36 receptors. Using a novel anti-IL1RAP-blocking antibody, we investigated the role of IL1RAP in atherosclerosis.

Methods And Results: Single-cell RNA sequencing data from human atherosclerotic plaques revealed the expression of IL1RAP and several IL1RAP-related cytokines and receptors, including IL1B and IL33.
