Background: There has been significant progress in understanding neurosarcoidosis (NS) as a distinct disorder, which encompasses a heterogeneous group of clinical and radiological alterations which can affect patients with systemic sarcoidosis or manifest isolated.
Rationale And Aim Of The Study: The healthcare challenges posed by NS and sarcoidosis in general extend beyond their physical symptoms and can include a variety of psychosocial factors, therefore the recognition of main neuropsychiatric symptoms can be useful to approach patients with NS. Methods: For this purpose, databases such as Pubmed, Medline and Pubmed Central (PMC) have been searched.

The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to examine the mean association between online social comparison and body image concerns, eating disorder behaviours and positive body image. View Article and Find Full Text PDFWe considered a time-inhomogeneous diffusion process able to describe the dynamics of infected people in a susceptible-infectious (SI) epidemic model in which the transmission intensity function was time-dependent. Such a model was well suited to describe some classes of micro-parasitic infections in which individuals never acquired lasting immunity and over the course of the epidemic everyone eventually became infected. The stochastic process related to the deterministic model was transformable into a nonhomogeneous Wiener process so the probability distribution could be obtained.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIn the context of chiral π-conjugated materials, the use of enantiopure alkylthio appendages represents a valid alternative to conventional alkoxy groups: sulphur atom is bigger and more electron-rich than oxygen, thus allowing for higher polarizability, greater flexibility, larger bulkiness and lower structural anisotropy. In light of these considerations, here we report two new chiral alkylthio-decorated 1,4-phenylene/thiophene dyes, obtained by simple synthetic strategies involving Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling protocols, looking for strong non-reciprocal chiroptical features in thin films. In particular, for the chiral alkylthio-decorated 1,4-phenylene-bis(thiophenylpropynone) (Thio-PTPO) dye, which proved to be the most promising for our purpose, a detailed investigation in thin films was carried out, involving optical and chiroptical spectroscopies in absorption and emission, as well as optical microscopy techniques.
