[Concomitant one-staged operations for complicated forms of hepatic echinococcosis].

The investigation objective was to substantiate an optimal tactics of treatment in coexistence of hepatic echinococcosis with other surgical diseases. The results of examination and treatment of 47 patients were analyzed. Chronic calculous cholecystitis was diagnosed in 21 of them, anterior abdominal wall hernia--in 14 (umbilical one--in 8, abdominal linea alba--in 4, postoperative--in 2), gynecological diseases --in 8 (ovarial cyst--in 5, pyosalpynx--in 3), chronic appendicitis --in 4.

[The choice of surgical tactics in complicated forms of hepatic echinococcosis].

Surgical tactics in complicated forms of hepatic echinococcosis was proposed, basing on the analysis of surgical treatment results, obtained in 378 patients suffering this disease. The method of biliary fistula closure, using the flap, modelled of fibrous capsule of echinococcal cyst was elaborated. The trapeziform flap was modelled from fibrous capsule after performance of conventional echinococcectomy.

[Surgical treatment of segmental extrahepatic portal hypertension].

The authors analyse the immediate and late-term results of surgical treatment of 39 patients who underwent 50 operations for segmental extrahepatic portal hypertension (SEPH). The threat of gastric hemorrhage was the main indication for surgery. Gastrotomy with suturing of the varicose veins of the stomach is the operation of choice when gastric hemorrhage continues.
