Greater occipital nerve neuralgia caused by pathological arterial contact: treatment by surgical decompression.

Occipital nerve neuralgia is a rare cause of severe headache, and may be difficult to treat. We report the case of a patient with occipital nerve neuralgia caused by pathological contact of the nerve with the occipital artery. The pain was refractory to medical treatment.

Intrapulmonary and cutaneous siliconomas after silent silicone breast implant failure.

Since the implementation and use of silicone implants in breast surgery the risks are published and discussed. Especially, the incidence of late silicone implant rupture and its potential risk to induce local siliconomas are still under discussion and not sufficiently evaluated. So far literature data offer no information of intrapulmonal or peripheral located cutaneous siliconomas because of systemic migration of silicone after breast augmentation.

Bilateral obstetric brachial plexus paralysis: a case report.

Background: Whereas cases of unilateral obstetric brachial plexus paralysis have been sufficiently described and discussed in the literature cases of bilateral obstetric brachial plexus paralysis are extremely rare and so far have not been mentioned and discussed satisfactorily.

Patients: We present a case of bilateral obstetric brachial plexus paralysis in an 8-months-old white boy. We performed a neurotisation of the Nervus suprascapularis with the Nervus accessorius and an Oberlin procedure on both sides in two operative steps.

Moist Exposed Burn Ointment (MEBO) in partial thickness burns - a randomized, comparative open mono-center study on the efficacy of dermaheal (MEBO) ointment on thermal 2nd degree burns compared to conventional therapy.

Objective: Wound healing in burn wounds presents a challenge in healthcare, and there is still a lack of alternatives in topical burn wound treatments. - The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of a new therapeutic ointment (MEBO) in the treatment of partial thickness burns.

Methods: 40 patients received either topical treatment with Moist Exposed Burn Ointment (MEBO) or standard Flammazine treatment.
