The paper analyses changes of the daily arterial pressure (AP) profile in patients with arterial hypertension (AH) and concomitant metabolic disturbances. 24 hour AP monitoring and metabolic studies were performed in 3 groups of AH patients. One included 11 patients with AH and "complete" metabolic syndrome, another comprised 21 patients with less than 5 components of metabolic syndrome, and control group consisted of 35 AH patients without metabolic syndrome.

It is shown, that in patients with AH associated with thyroid pathology, residing in Far North, defects of LV geometry, adverse in prognostic plan, are revealed significantly more often. The functional conditions of thyroid gland influences on distribution of LV geometry types (concentric LV hypertrophy is registered significantly more often at hypothyroidism).

It was found out that mean BP influences on developing of chronic forms of vascular brain pathology, microalbuminuria degree correlates with pulse BP level, development of hypertensive retinopathy is associated with excessive variability of day BP.

The workers and office staffers appeared to have identical blood pressure profiles that are characterized by lower decrease of nightly blood pressure, prevalent morning and two-humped biorhythm.
