Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), carrying the patient's genetic background, open the path to advanced modeling. The feasibility of recapitulating complex pathophysiological scenarios depends on iPSC's ability to differentiate into the plurality of specific organ resident cells, on their maturation and networking. To this end, a strong interest has arisen in organoids, 3D structures, obtained by exploiting iPSC natural capability to self-assemble and rebuild organ parts.

One suitable strategy is to use spacetime coordinate transformations that include the background flow features to tune the meta-device design parameters analytically, and, therefore, the phenomenon must be reinterpreted into the spacetime. However, a change of coordinates capable of including all the convective effects is not known for general flow conditions and analytical approximations are inevitably introduced.

It`s an update of the first review published in 2014.
Methods: A PubMed systematic literature review was done from Nov 2013 up to December 2022.
Background: wide antral pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) is effective for treating paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF), although time-demanding. We investigated the impact of a standardized ablation protocol by using a bidirectional transeptal steerable sheath, high-density mapping and very high-power-short-duration (vHPSD) catheters on procedure timing, efficacy, and safety.
Methods: consecutive PAF patients free from previous ablations undergoing PVI alone between January 2022 and March 2023 were prospectively enrolled.
The kinetic pathways to gelation and the effects of flow-induced restructuring are studied here in depletion flocculated gels with short-ranged attractions, both experimentally and using computer simulations. In the experiments, we first carefully diffuse a screening organic salt to destabilize colloid-polymer mixtures and form a gel. We hence avoid flow history effects, typical of traditional mixing protocols.
