The results are presented of identification in the neutralization (NT) and coagglutination tests (CT) of 90 enterovirus strains isolated from patients with aseptic meningitis and from water bodies. In CT, a staphylococcal reagent sensitized with type-specific sera to enteroviruses and mixtures of these sera was used. Comparison of the results obtained in NT and CT showed the rate of coincidence to be 66.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe results of examinations of blood sera from normal children for the presence of antibody to polioviruses after two courses of mass vaccinations were carried out according to epidemiological indications although differing in duration of the campaign and the range of the child populations involved, are presented. The advantages of simultaneous mass vaccinations covering children from 2 months to 7 years of age have been demonstrated.
