This study aims to develop an innovative multifunctional and dual responsive drug formulation for precise siRNA delivery to breast cancer sites, addressing the challenges posed by conventional cancer treatments which often result in adverse side effects due to their non-specific nature. The formulation made by incorporating gold coated superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (Au-SPIONs) into chitosan microspheres, which were subsequently loaded with siRNA. Comprehensive characterization, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) confirmed the formulation's favourable morphology, particle size distribution, chemical composition, and stability, indicating its strong potential for effective siRNA drug delivery applications.

This paper addresses achieving the high time-bandwidth product necessary for low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) target detection and localization in complex multipath environments. Time bandwidth product is often limited by dynamic environments and platform maneuvers. This paper introduces data-driven wideband focusing methods for passive sonar that optimize parameterized unitary matrices to align signal subspaces across the frequency band without relying on wave propagation models which are subject to mismatch in complex multipath environments.

Background: The National Health Service (NHS) Long Term Plan, published in 2019, committed to ensuring that every patient in England has the right to digital-first primary care by 2023-2024. The COVID-19 pandemic and infection prevention and control measures accelerated work by the NHS to enable and stimulate the use of online consultation (OC) systems across all practices for improved access to primary care.

Objective: We aimed to explore general practice coding activity associated with the use of OC systems in terms of trends, COVID-19 effect, variation, and quality.

Article Synopsis
  • * In the OpenSAFELY-TPP database, 78.2% of patients had their ethnicity recorded in primary care as of January 2022, with higher rates in women and those with serious health conditions.
  • * The primary care ethnicity data closely matched the 2021 UK census data, with a high consistency found among patients with multiple ethnicity records, particularly indicating issues with classification for those recorded as "Other."

Ferritin, a spherical protein shell assembled from 24 subunits, functions as an efficient iron storage and release system through its channels. Understanding how various chemicals affect the structural behavior of ferritin is crucial for unravelling the origins of iron-related diseases in living organisms including humans. In particular, the influence of chemicals on ferritin's dynamics and iron release is barely explored at the single-protein level.
