Phosphatidic acid phosphatase, a conserved eukaryotic enzyme that catalyzes the Mg-dependent dephosphorylation of phosphatidic acid to produce diacylglycerol, has emerged as a vital regulator of lipid homeostasis. By controlling the balance of phosphatidic acid and diacylglycerol, the enzyme governs the use of the lipids for synthesis of the storage lipid triacylglycerol and the membrane phospholipids needed for cell growth. The mutational, biochemical, and cellular analyses of yeast phosphatidic acid phosphatase have provided insights into the structural determinants of enzyme function with the understanding of its regulation by phosphorylation and dephosphorylation.

Background: Non-Japanese-speaking patients taking medical treatment in Japan face language barriers and lack of language assistance. Language barriers influence all processes from preventive services to treatment, and insufficient communication can affect patient outcomes. Illness perception, which is related to illness-coping behaviors and self-care behaviors, is an important factor for effective treatment, but no studies have investigated the relationship between communication skills and illness perception among non-Japanese-speaking patients.

Introduction: The prognostic differences between neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) and mixed neuroendocrine-non-neuroendocrine neoplasm (MiNEN) remain unclear.

Coastal wetlands contain very large carbon (C) stocks-termed as blue C-and their management has emerged as a promising nature-based solution for climate adaptation and mitigation. Although numerous studies have shown that grazing gives rise to community succession from the communities or even species perspective, there is a lack of discussion about how grazing drives community assembly based on plant functional traits in a long-term experiment. We find different grazing intensities lead to temporal effects on trait-mediated multidimensional community assembly processes, including community-weighted trait mean (CWM), trait filtering, and trait distribution (divergence/convergence). CWM, trait filtering, and trait distribution of different traits transformed over the 16-year grazing experiment.
