Development of a brief screening measure of unmet supportive care needs (SCNS-P&C-6) in caregivers of people with high-grade glioma.

Purpose: Informal caregivers of people with high grade glioma (HGG) often have high levels of unmet support needs. Routine screening for unmet needs can facilitate appropriate and timely access to supportive care. We aimed to develop a brief screening tool for HGG caregiver unmet needs, based on the Supportive Care Needs Survey-Partners & Caregivers (SCNS-P&C).

Expectations for gynaecological cancer nursing guidance development: A qualitative exploration: Part 1 - Creating foundational support.

Purpose: Nurses are acknowledged as essential in the delivery of best practice gynaecological cancer care however previous studies have identified challenges in these nursing roles. Recommendations include the development of nursing guidance focused on supporting people with a gynaecological cancer. This study aimed to explore perceptions and expectations for the development of a gynaecological cancer nursing guidance resource in Australia and investigate preferred design and content inclusion.

Study protocol: Optimising patient positioning for the planning of accelerated partial breast radiotherapy for the integrated magnetic resonance linear accelerator: OPRAH MRL.

Background: Accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI) is an accepted treatment option for early breast cancer. Treatment delivered on the Magnetic Resonance integrated Linear Accelerator (MRL) provides the added assurance of improved soft tissue visibility, important in the delivery of APBI. This technique can be delivered in both the supine and prone positions, however current literature suggests that prone treatment on the MRL is infeasible due to physical limitations with bore size.

A nurse-led intervention for carers of people with high-grade glioma: A case series of carers reporting high distress.

Background: Carers play an important role in supporting patients diagnosed with high-grade glioma (HGG). However, this experience is frequently distressing and many carers require support.

Objectives: To describe unmet needs of highly distressed carers of people with HGG and recommendations and referrals made by a nurse to support them within the Care-IS trial.

Fostering nurse-patient relationships in palliative care: An integrative review with narrative synthesis.

Background: Nurse-patient relationships are an integral component of person-centred palliative care. Greater understanding of how nurse-patient relationships are fostered and perceived by patients and nurses can be used to inform nursing practice.

Aim: To systematically identify and synthesise how nurse-patient relationships are fostered in specialist inpatient palliative care settings, and how nurse-patient relationships were perceived by patients and nurses.
