Introduction: Immunogenic cell death (ICD) has emerged as a novel option for cancer immunotherapy. The key determinants of ICD encompass antigenicity (the presence of antigens) and adjuvanticity, which involves the release of damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) and various cytokines and chemokines. CX3CL1, also known as neurotactin or fractalkine, is a chemokine involved in cellular signalling and immune cell interactions.

Biorefining of lignocellulosic biomass a lignin first approach delivers a range of products with high oxygen content. Besides pulp, a lignin oil rich in guaiacols and syringols is obtained bearing multiple C(aryl)-OH and C(aryl)-OMe groups, typically named phenolics. Similarly, technical lignin can be used but is generally more difficult to process providing lower yields of monomers.

Objectives: Epileptiform activity and seizures are present in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and genetic animal models of AD. Amyloid beta 1-42 (Aβ) oligomers are thought to be crucial in AD and can cause neuronal hyperexcitability . However, it is unclear whether these Aβ oligomers cause the increased seizure susceptibility in people with AD and in AD animal models, nor via which mechanisms it would do so.
