Peroxidase 4-Based Enzymatic Synthesis of Stilbene Oligomers in Methyl Jasmonate-Elicited Grapevine Cell Suspensions.

Stilbenes are specialized metabolites that are particularly abundant in species. Although the biosynthetic pathways of stilbenes have been well-characterized, the role of specific peroxidases in stilbene oligomerization remains to be investigated. In this study, we used grapevine cell cultures to characterize the functional role of peroxidase 4 (VvPRX4) in the production of resveratrol oligomers after elicitation with methyl jasmonate (MeJA).

[Refinement of the French sociotropy-autonomy scale: Validation of a 20-item measure of social dependency among first-year students at the university].

Objective: Sociotropy and autonomy have been described as personality styles promoting the occurrence of stress in individuals. The SAS (for sociotropy-autonomy scale) corresponds to a 60-item instrument devoted to sociotropy and autonomy estimation in various populations. However, the different SAS versions display variations in item scoring, in scale structure and in factor composition.

[Learning pathologic anatomy during medical formation: Understanding the contribution of the motivation].

Introduction: The motivations of medical students for Pathologic Anatomy are little known although they can strongly influence their academic performance. Our work focused on the analysis of the relationship between performance and motivation for Pathologic Anatomy.

Materials And Methods: Second-year students (n=268) from the University of Nantes were contacted to complete a motivation questionnaire and to provide indicators of performance and attendance.

Are alexithymia and empathy predicting factors of the resilience of medical residents in France?

Objectives: To explore resilience, resilience predicting factors and resilience distribution in French medical residents.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in which general practice residents (n = 380) were asked to answer the Jefferson Scale of Physician Empathy, the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, and the Toronto Alexithymia Scale. One hundred thirty-seven (137) responses were collected.

Exploration of mental health of health students: Dental and medical formations promote anhedonia.

Objectives: Health students usually report to experience stress during their formation. This is due to their exposure to patient's disease or death, to their learning of interpersonal relationships, and to the discovery of health practitioner's responsibility. Anhedonia represents a deficit in experiencing pleasure that is promoted by stressful living conditions.
