The relationship between lung function, exercise capacity, oxidant and antioxidant response in primary ciliary dyskinesia and cystic fibrosis.

Background: There is a need to identify the complex interplay between various physiological mechanisms in primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) and cystic fibrosis (CF). The study investigated the interaction between respiratory function, exercise capacity, muscle strength, and inflammatory and oxidant/antioxidant responses in patients with PCD and CF.

Methods: The study included 30 PCD patients, 30 CF patients, and 29 age and sex-matched healthy subjects.

Transient global amnesia and hippocampal diffusion restriction: an overlooked radiological finding.

Transient global amnesia (TGA) is characterized by isolated sudden anterograde amnesia. Diffusion restriction can be observed in the hippocampus on DWI-MRI at varying rates in TGA patients. This study analyzes the prevalence and characteristics of the hippocampal diffusion restriction (HDR), its relationship with vascular risk factors, and the prevalence of lesions overlooked in routine reports.

Synthesis and Tyrosinase Inhibitory Activity of Novel Benzimidazole/Thiazolidin-4-one Hybrid Derivatives.

In this study, novel 3-(phenylamino)thiazolidin-4-one 2 a-d and 3-(phenyl)thiazolidin-4-one 3 a-g derivatives which are having benzimidazole moiety were synthesized and their tyrosinase inhibitory activity were investigated. The structures of the target compounds were elucidated using H/ C-NMR, IR and MS. The structure of 2 b was also characterized using HSQC NMR technique.
