Extended temporomandibular joint prostheses: a retrospective analysis of feasibility, outcomes, and complications.

Prostheses for extended total temporomandibular joint replacement (eTJR) include modifications to the traditional alloplastic fossa-condyle joint that extend to adjacent bone defects. The aim of this retrospective study was to assess the feasibility, postoperative complications, and functional and aesthetic outcomes after eTJR. Patients aged ≥18 years undergoing eTJR between 2013 and 2022 were included.

Background: Reconstructing cranio-maxillo-facial defects presents significant challenges. This study evaluates the results of polyetheretherketone patient-specific implants (PEEK PSIs) in primary and secondary cranio-maxillo-facial reconstructions, with a focus on aesthetic and functional outcomes and long-term complications.

Patient Specific Implants for Orbital Reconstruction in the Treatment of Silent Sinus Syndrome: Two Case Reports.

Silent sinus syndrome is a rare disorder characterized by ipsilateral enophthalmos and hypoglobus following a collapse of the orbital floor, in the presence of asymptomatic long-term maxillary sinusitis. It results in enophthalmos, hypoglobus and deepening of the superior palpebral sulcus. A standardized treatment protocol for this infrequent syndrome has not yet been established.

Accuracy of intraoperative navigation for orbital fracture repair: A retrospective morphometric analysis.

In this retrospective case series, patients undergoing surgery to treat isolated orbital floor fractures were morphometrically analyzed. Cloud Compare was used to compare mesh positioning with a virtual plan, using the distance-to-nearest-neighbor method.
