Defects in DNA single-strand break repair are associated with neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders. One such disorder is that resulting from mutations in , a scaffold protein that plays a central role in DNA single-strand base repair. XRCC1 is recruited at sites of single-strand breaks by PARP1, a protein that detects and is activated by such breaks and is negatively regulated by XRCC1 to prevent excessive PARP binding and activity.

In a cohort of TG-AMAB in Washington DC, we determined the prevalence and epidemiological factors associated with anal high-risk HPV (HR-HPV) infection and cytological abnormalities.
Methods: In an urban academic-community clinic, we recruited adults identifying as a gender different than their sex assigned at birth.
Objective: Folate receptor alpha (FRα) is overexpressed on >90% of high-grade epithelial ovarian cancers (EOC). Targeting FRα with antibody-drug conjugates has proven utility in the platinum-resistant setting. It is also a potential therapeutic target for immuno-oncologic agents, such as peptide vaccines that work primarily via adaptive and humoral immunity.

The US Food and Drug Administration's prescribing information for buprenorphine advises dosing up to 24 mg/day; however, doses of buprenorphine up to 32 mg have been shown to be safe and effective. We compared outcomes associated increased dosing from 24 to 32 mg/day.

Many national and international bodies, including the World Health Organization, have advocated for population-wide sodium reduction interventions. Most have been unsuccessful due to inadequate sodium reduction by food industry and difficulties in persuading consumers to add less salt to food.
