Surgical teaching at the Jardin des Plantes during the seventeenth century.

Lectures and demonstrations on surgery were given at the Jardin des Plantes in Paris from the time it was founded in 1626, notably by Dionis in 1672-1680 and by Du Verney in 1680-1707. The latter's claims for repayment of his expenses in 1687-1690 provide a detailed picture of how the teaching was organized.
