Introduction: Sarcopenia evaluated from the measurement of skeletal muscle index (SMI) has been evaluated as a predictive factor of morbidity and mortality after surgery. The objective of this study was to evaluate whether it was predictive of morbidity and mortality in patients managed by cystectomy or tri-modality therapy (TMT), combining radiotherapy and chemotherapy after endoscopic resection of the tumour, for localized muscle-invasive bladder cancer.

Materials And Methods: In all, 146 consecutive patients from 2 university hospital centres treated by cystectomy between January 2012 and April 2017 or TMT between October 2008 and October 2014 were included.

Objectives: To compare the oncological outcomes of percutaneous cryoablation (PCA) vs robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) for the treatment of T1 renal tumours.

Patients And Methods: We conducted a retrospective study in all patients treated by RAPN or PCA for malignant renal tumours in one of four centres between 2009 and 2016. Tumours were paired one by one using radiological tumour stage and RENAL nephrometry score (package matchit, R software version 3.

Although many human cancers are located in mucosal sites, most cancer vaccines are tested against subcutaneous tumors in preclinical models. We therefore wondered whether mucosa-specific homing instructions to the immune system might influence mucosal tumor outgrowth. We showed that the growth of orthotopic head and neck or lung cancers was inhibited when a cancer vaccine was delivered by the intranasal mucosal route but not the intramuscular route.

Background: Laparoscopic exposure of pelvic nerves has opened a new area in the field of neuromodulation. However, electrode design and material deterioration remain issues that limit clinical application. The objective of this study was to evaluate experimentally the laparoscopic implantation of different types of neural electrodes in order to achieve functional and selective electrical stimulation of pelvic nerves.
