Attachment State of Mind and complex traumatization in patients with Functional Motor Disorder (Motor Conversion Disorder).

Introduction: Functional Motor Disorder (FMD) is characterized by motor neurological symptoms that cannot be explained by typical neurological diseases or other medical conditions. The role of psychological factors in the development, severity, and persistence of FMD remains unclear. We investigated the Attachment State of Mind (SoM) in FMD patients using the Adult Attachment Interview (AAI) and retrospectively examined the quality of their traumatic experiences, if any.

Rare forms of monogenic diabetes in non-European individuals. First reports of CEL and RFX6 mutations from the Indian subcontinent.

Aims: Monogenic diabetes is one of the few examples in metabolic diseases in which a real precision medicine approach can be implemented in daily clinical work. Unfortunately, most of what is known today comes from studies in Whites, thus leaving much uncertainty about the genetics and the clinical presentation of monogenic diabetes in non-Europeans. To fill this gap, we report here two pedigrees from Bangladesh with CEL- and RFX6- diabetes, two rare types of monogenic diabetes which have never been described so far in individuals of the Indian subcontinent.

Fetal Myocarditis Associated With Maternal SARS-CoV-2 Infection.

We report the first case of significant fetal myocardial involvement associated with maternal SARS-CoV-2 infection, in which restoration of cardiac function at birth was noted. The demonstration of previous infection was supported by the quantification of humoral response in child and mother, in particular the presence of anti-N antibodies and through the detection of specific antibodies against the BA.4/5 variant.

A pediatric telecardiology system that facilitates integration between hospital-based services and community-based primary care.

Introduction: Telecardiology has emerged as a vital field within telemedicine, fostering collaboration between hospital and community medicine. This pilot study introduces an innovative pediatric telecardiology system, comprising a telecardiology system seamlessly integrated with a hospital telemedicine platform. A smooth flow of ECG execution, transmission, and reporting between Primary Care Pediatrician clinics and the hospital was tested as the primary objective.

Linguistic markers of processing the first months of the pandemic COVID-19: a psycholinguistic analysis of Italian university students' diaries.

A longitudinal psycholinguistic study was conducted with 107 students from different Italian universities that produced daily photo-diary entries for two weeks, one at the beginning and the other at the end of the first Italian lockdown period, imposed in view of the rapid dissemination of COVID -19. The task was to take a daily photo accompanied by a short description (text). The texts accompanying the photos were analysed using Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count (LIWC) software to analyze linguistic markers representing psychological processes related to the experience of the pandemic and the lockdown, identifying potential changes in psycholinguistic variables useful for understanding the psychological impact of such harsh and extended restricted living conditions on Italian students.
