Transradial access (TRA) decreased bleeding after coronary interventions compared with femoral access (FA). However, no large study focused on arterial access-related outcomes in patients with acute coronary syndromes, although procedure-related bleeding significantly impaired prognosis. The aim was to evaluate access site-related outcomes of patients who underwent an invasive coronary procedure in the PRESTO-ACS Study.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility of biologically removing phenol from waste gases by means of a biofilter using a Pseudomonas putida strain. Two series of both batch and continuous tests have been performed in order to ascertain the microbial degradation of phenol. For the preliminary batch tests, carried out in order to test the effective feasibility of the process and to investigate their kinetic behavior, two different microbial cultures belonging to the Pseudomonas genus have been employed, a heterogeneous culture and a pure strain of P.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFTwo non familial cases of the juvenile lethal form of osteopetrosis and one case of the mild adult type are reported. In one case at risk of lethal osteopetrosis an early prenatal diagnosis was attempted, after informing the parents about the extreme difficulty to obtain conclusive results by such investigation. Although several ultrasonographic and one radiological examinations showed an apparently normal foetus, the newborn was affected by the lethal form of osteopetrosis.

This article aims at deriving kinetic models for the RBS reactor operating with and without cell porous support. Since derivation of the kinetic equations from the Monod model is very complex, an empirical derivation from experimental data of continuous alcohol fermentations is used in this work.
