Retrieval of Entrapped Embolic Protection Device during Carotid Artery Stenting: A Case Report.

Aim: This study aims to report a rare case of an embolization protection device (EPD) entrapment during Carotid Artery Stent (CAS) and to discuss the management strategy, including open surgery and concurrent carotid endarterectomy (CEA).

Case Presentation: A 71-year-old female presented with left limb weakness and unclear speech following CAS. Imaging revealed a new cerebral infarction and right internal carotid artery stenosis.

A novel hierarchical porous biochar based on ZIF-8 volatile hard template with high-efficiency electrochemical sensing performance for trace determination of Ponceau 4R.

A convenient method is proposed using a heat-treatable volatile template to prepare hierarchical porous biochar (HPB). Litsea cubeba leaves and ZIF-8 served as carbon source and volatile hard template, respectively. The good compatibility between ZIF-8 and biomass facilitated their uniform dispersion, and the thermal decomposition of ZIF-8 created abundant pores in the HPB.

Azole and benzimidazole fungicides are widely used agrochemicals to prevent and treat fungal growth and are frequently detected in aquatic environments. Here, we aimed to assess the aquatic ecological risks of ten currently used azole and benzimidazole fungicides, which with the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) agonistic activity, and their transformation products (TPs). Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) currently serves as the primary diagnostic method for glioma detection and monitoring. The integration of neurosurgery, radiation therapy, pathology, and radiology in a multi-disciplinary approach has significantly advanced its diagnosis and treatment.
