Objectives: Epidemiologic data concerning hand and wrist tumors are still few and sometimes conflicting. In our department, tumor surgeons and hand surgeons manage together those tumors and they have a specific recruitment. This collaboration permitted to make an epidemiologic study of the tumors of the hand operated in the unit.

Objective: Giant cell tumors (GCT) of bone are benign tumors with local aggressiveness that most of the time occur around the metaphyseal area of long bones, often in contact with the articular cartilage. Their treatment remains controversial because of their high recurrence rate. The authors report a retrospective series of 30 cases treated using curettage followed by cementation.

The first step for treatment of bone metastases is to confirm the diagnosis, particularly if there is only one localisation, so as to exclude a primary bone tumour. Surgery and percutaneous injection of acrylic cement are both efficient to relieve pain. Their indications and timing have to be discussed in pluridisciplinary staff.
