Anethole, an antioxidant found in plants, appears to improve the survival of spermatozoa during semen cryopreservation. This study assessed the effects of commercial trans-anethole in ram semen cryopreservation. Thirty ejaculates from six rams were diluted in media containing anethole at the following concentrations: CONT (0 μM), AN10 (10 μM), AN50 (50 μM), and AN100 (100 μM).

Immunocytochemical evaluation of aquaporins and cell wall components and their influence on foliar water uptake in Andean Melastomataceae.

Andean ecosystems are characterized by high humidity, mainly from rain and fog events. Because of differences in altitude two Andean ecosystems - sub-Andean forest and Páramo -face different environmental pressures that affect leaf anatomy and cell wall composition and, consequently, species foliar water uptake (FWU) capacity. Here, FWU capacity of eight species in the Melastomataceae was evaluated and found to be related to proportions of cell wall components and aquaporins in the two ecosystems.

Mechanical and Optical Characterization of Single-shade Resin Composites Used in Posterior Teeth.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the optical and mechanical performance of two single-shade resin-based composites (RBCs) compared to those of a conventional RBC for restoring posterior teeth.

Methods: Two single-shade RBCs, Omnichroma (Tukoyama) and Vittra Unique APS (FGM), and a conventional RBC, Filtek Z350XT shade A2 (3M Oral Care), were evaluated in this study. The optical shade-matching performance was measured using a spectrophotometer.

Introduction And Objectives: There has been increasing interest in pacing methods that provide physiological stimulation, such as His bundle pacing (HBP) or left bundle branch area pacing (LBBAP). Our goal was to assess the feasibility and safety of these techniques.

Methods: Prospective observational single-center study evaluating 46 patients with indication for a pacemaker that attempted HBP or LBBAP from July 2020 to November 2021.
