Objective: A previous 12-month comparative trial with Criscy™ (r-hGH Cristália), a biosimilar recombinant growth hormone, demonstrated equivalent efficacy and safety to Genotropin™. This extension trial evaluated the effects of switching patients treated with Genotropin™ to the biosimilar Criscy™ over an additional 6-month treatment period, comparing efficacy, safety, and immunogenicity parameters with patients remaining in the Criscy™ arm.
Design: This extension study included 11 research centers and 81 patients who participated in the CERES study (Czepielewski et al.
The gastric pathogen Helicobacter pylori produces large amounts of urease, whose enzyme activity enables the bacterium to survive in the stomach. We have previously shown that ureases display enzyme-independent effects in mammalian models, most through lipoxygenases-mediated pathways. Here, we evaluated potential pro-inflammatory properties of H.

The rapid membrane actions of FSH occur in a time frame of seconds to minutes, which include membrane depolarization and the stimulation of (45)Ca(2+) uptake. These effects can be prevented by pertussis toxin (PTX), suggesting that they are likely mediated by Gi-protein coupled receptor activation.

Electron microscope immunohistochemistry was used to detect FMRFamide-like peptides in the nerve endings within this gland. Nerve backfilling was used in an attempt to identify the neurons involved in this innervation.
