Coccidiosis and necrotic enteritis (NE) are prevalent poultry ailments worldwide, leading to decreased live performance and elevated mortality rates without antibiotic usage. This study evaluated (black cumin) seeds (BCS) and kefir as alternatives to antibiotics for broilers. An in vivo study over a 28-day period, using 384 Cobb 500 male broilers organized into six treatment groups as part of a completely randomized block experimental design was conducted.

Risk factors for in-hospital mortality after emergency colorectal surgery in octogenarians: results of a cohort study from a referral center.

Purpose: The objective of this study was to investigate predictive factors of mortality in emergency colorectal surgery in octogenarian patients.

Methods: It is a retrospective cohort study conducted at a single-institution tertiary referral center. Consecutive patients who underwent emergency colorectal surgery between January 2015 and January 2020 were identified.
