L-proline is an amino acid with a unique cyclic structure, involvement in various physiological processes, such as protein synthesis, collagen production, and neurotransmission. This review explores the complex roles of proline in the central nervous system (CNS), where it contributes to both excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmission. Additionally, L-proline has distinct metabolic functions attributed to its structural properties.

Moniliophthora perniciosa is the causal agent of the witches' broom disease of cacao (Theobroma cacao), and it can infect the tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) 'Micro-Tom' (MT) cultivar. Typical symptoms of infection are stem swelling and axillary shoot outgrowth, whereas reduction in root biomass is another side effect. Purpose: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is a significant public health challenge associated with high mortality rates primarily due to its invasive and metastatic behavior. This study aimed to evaluate the expression patterns of five critical biomarkers: β-catenin, E-cadherin, podoplanin (PDPN), CXCR4, and p53 in OSCC tissues and to investigate their correlations with clinicopathologic features and patient outcomes.

Methods: We conducted an immunohistochemical analysis utilizing tissue microarrays (TMAs) from 95 patients diagnosed with primary OSCC.
