Detection of Helicobacter Pylori in Nasal Polyps: An Epidemiological Study.

Many studies have described the detection of Helicobacter pylori (HP) in the nasal polyps; however, although gastroesophageal reflux has been associated with chronic rhinosinusitis and nasal polyps development, the role of HP remains unclear. Our aim was to describe the prevalence of HP detection in nasal polyps and its association with gastric HP infection and gastroesophageal reflux dsease (GERD). The prospective study involved 36 patients with nasal polyps, who underwent to endoscopic surgery removal of nasal polyps.

Head and neck cancer poses a significant health problem worldwide. We set out to investigate the value of rapid intraoperative cell cycle analysis by flow cytometry for the intraoperative characterization of head and neck lesions and surgical margins. Seventy patients with head and neck lesions suspicious of malignancy were included in the study.

Cervical isometric exercises improve dysphagia and cervical spine malalignment following stroke with hemiparesis: a randomized controlled trial.

Background: Hemiparesis following stroke can cause cervical spine scoliosis, kyphosis or hyperlordosis. These abnormal cervical alignments can contribute to dysphagia. The benefit of cervical isometric exercises to improve swallowing has not been previously studied.

Versatility of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation in the Treatment of Poststroke Dysphagia.

Various techniques and courses of treatment have been researched, proposed, and implemented to evaluate and treat poststroke dysphagia (PSD) which is one of the main medical conditions affecting not only elderly people, as previously assumed, but also in recent years younger populations as well. The effectiveness of therapeutic methods depends mainly on the expertise of an interdisciplinary team of therapists, as well as on the timely application of the treatment. The present review discusses the therapeutic benefits of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in patients suffering from PSD regardless of the location of the lesion.
