Lactic acid (LA) is a versatile, optically active compound with applications across the food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries, largely driven by its role in producing biodegradable polylactic acid (PLA). Due to its abundance, lignocellulosic biomass is a promising and sustainable resource for LA production, although media derived from these matrices are often rich in xylose and contain growth inhibitors. This study investigates LA production using a xylose-rich medium derived from DC stalks treated through steam explosion and enzymatic hydrolysis.

Pimozide is known to block dopaminergic D2 receptors and various types of voltage-gated ion channels. Among its side effects, dizziness and imbalance are the most frequently observed, which may imply an effect of the drug on the vestibular sensory receptors, the hair cells.

: Empirical antibacterial therapy for febrile neutropenia reduces mortality due to Gram-negative blood stream infections (BSIs). Pediatric guidelines recommend monotherapy with an antipseudomonal beta-lactam or a carbapenem and to add a second anti-Gram-negative agent in selected situations. We evaluated the changes in the proportions of resistance of beta-lactam monotherapies vs.

Disentangling the contributions from fluctuations in the nuclear overlap size (geometrical component) and other sources at a fixed size (intrinsic component) remains a challenge. This problem is addressed by measuring the mean, variance, and skewness of P([p_{T}]) in ^{208}Pb+^{208}Pb and ^{129}Xe+^{129}Xe collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.

It is technically challenging for both surgical and percutaneous approach and is burdened by high mortality.
Case Summary: The present case report describes a complex case of mitral steno-insufficiency (baseline transvalvular gradient = 5 mmHg, effective regurgitant orifice area 0.
