Damage caused to railway tracks and the surrounding environment during trains passage have become a real concern for those involved in the railway sector over the years. To find a solution for this problem, several approaches have already been implemented on railway tracks in some countries. Despite the efforts made in this area, the problem of ground vibration induced by railway traffic still remains a concern.

On the simultaneous inversion of micro-perforated panels' parameters: Application to single and double air-cavity backed systems.

This study deals with the deduction of parameters of Micro-Perforated Panel (MPP) systems from impedance tube data. It is shown that there is an ambiguity problem that exists between the MPP thickness and its open area ratio. This problem makes it difficult to invert the reflection coefficient data fitting and therefore to deduct the MPP parameters.
