[Urinary cytology for the detection of urothelial lesions].

Urine cytology is a long-used technique for the detection of high grade neoplastic urothelial lesions. Since 2016, «The Paris System» classification has revolutionized this field by introducing a standardized terminology widely adopted by cytopathologists and urologists. In this article, we explain this classification and discuss its impact on the clinical management of patients with urothelial lesions, as well as its role in the secondary prevention of these lesions.

[Urethroplasties for male urethral strictures: Success rates and predictive factors].

Introduction: Urethroplasty has reported success rates ranging from 60 to 98%. Predictive factors for recurrence are rarely studied, postoperative urinary drainage modalities are not investigated. The primary objective was to evaluate the success rate of urethroplasty in our center.

Artificial urinary sphincter implantation in non-neurogenic men: a place for out-patient surgery.

Objective: To assess feasibility, safety and risk factors for failure associated with out-patient surgery for artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) implantation/revision in non-neurogenic men.

Materials: In the present retrospective monocentric study conducted between May 2016 and March 2020, 81 patients undergoing AUS implantation or revision during an out-patient surgery were included. The primary outcome was the success rate of out-patient surgery.

[Erdheim-Chester disease : a case report].

We report the case of a 47-year-old woman with unexplained inflammatory syndrome and asthenia. Imaging findings show bilateral abnormalities of femurs and tibias, suggesting an Erdheim-Chester disease, which is confirmed by a bone marrow biopsy of the left femur. The BRAF V600E mutation is detected, allowing the administration of targeted therapies such as BRAF and MEK inhibitors that lead to the improvement of symptoms.
