Methods: The Swedish Web-system for Enhancement and Development of Evidence-based care in Heart disease Evaluated According to Recommended Therapies registry was used to analyse 57 097 revascularized patients with NSTEMI with multivessel disease in Sweden from January 2005 to June 2022.

ISHLT consensus statement on the perioperative use of ECLS in lung transplantation: Part II: Intraoperative considerations.

The use of extracorporeal life support (ECLS) throughout the perioperative phase of lung transplantation requires nuanced planning and execution by an integrated team of multidisciplinary experts. To date, no multidisciplinary consensus document has examined the perioperative considerations of how to best manage these patients. To address this challenge, this perioperative utilization of ECLS in lung transplantation consensus statement was approved for development by the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation Standards and Guidelines Committee.

Clinical Examples of the Additive Value of Absolute Quantification of Cell-Free DNA After Heart Transplantation.

Objective: Cell-free DNA (cfDNA) is used as a biomarker after transplantation to detect graft injury, relying on the donor fraction (DF). We have established a PCR-based approach allowing us to separately quantify absolute values of dd-cfDNA and recipient-derived cfDNA (rd-cfDNA). We aimed to present typical clinical scenarios after heart transplantation (HTx) to illustrate the advantages of absolute cfDNA values over DF.

Malignancies After Lung Transplantation.

Lung transplantation (LTx) is a well-known treatment for end-stage lung disease. This study aimed to report the incidence of cancer after LTx and long-term outcome among lung transplant recipients with a pretransplant diagnosis of cancer. Patients who underwent LTx between 1990-2016 were included in the study.

Heart transplant patients have an increased risk of developing cancer. Patients who underwent HTx between 1985 and 2017 were included. Detection of cancer was obtained by cross-checking the study population with the Swedish Cancer-Registry and the Cause-of-Death-Registry.
