This study investigated the effects of dietary supplementation with extruded linseed (ELS) and algae extract (PP) on rabbit carcass and meat quality. Ninety-six rabbit carcasses from two production cycles were analyzed. In the first cycle (C1), rabbits were fed a control diet (1CNT), the same diet supplemented with 5% ELS (1ELS5%), and supplemented with 3.

This study is focused on the design, synthesis, and evaluation of some sulfonamide derivatives for their inhibitory effects on human carbonic anhydrase (hCA) enzymes I, II, IX, and XII as well as for their antioxidant activity. The purity of the synthesized molecules was confirmed by the HPLC purity analysis and was found in the range of 93%-100%. The inhibition constant (K) against hCA I ranged from 0.

In white adipose tissue, disturbed creatine metabolism through reduced creatine kinase B (CKB) transcription contributes to obesity-related inflammation. However, the mechanisms regulating CKB expression in human white adipocytes remain unclear. By screening conditions perturbed in obesity, we identified endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress as a key suppressor of CKB transcription across multiple cell types.

There is a constant need to reduce turn-around times and keep costs as low as possible for the carriage screening of GBS in pregnant patients. Laboratory automation might provide an edge in this field. The objectives of the present study were: i) to compare the performance of the direct chromID™ Strepto B agar (CA) plating against LIM-broth enriched plating on CA for the detection of GBS from vagino-rectal screening-swabs; and ii) to assess the usage of PhenoMATRIX™ for the automated screening of GBS.
