A sensory experience memory (SEM) is an emotional memory that may be either connected to an intellectual memory or it may have become dissociated from its corresponding intellectual memory. Sensory experience memories are the cause of a number of pathologies, including PTSD, panic disorder, and anxiety. When a personality state that holds a negative SEM assumes the conscious, the client may display negative emotional reactions that appear unwarranted.

An optical waveguide array biosensor suitable for rapid detection of multiple bio-hazardous agents is presented. SpectroSens™ optical microchip sensors contain multiple spatially-separated waveguide channels with integral high-precision Bragg gratings sensitive to changes in refractive-index; selective surface-functionalisation of discrete sensing channels with different antibodies as bio-recognition elements enables selective multi-analyte biological detection. Interactions between target antigens in the test sample and respective surface-immobilised antibodies result in localised changes in refractive-index; the biosensor response manifests as increases in wavelength of light reflected from specific sensing channels.

SpectroSens sensor chips are based on integrated planar Bragg gratings sensitive to localised changes in refractive index. Bragg wavelength tuning covering five 25 GHz wavelength-division multiplexing channel spacing has been achieved with 170 V (peak-to-peak) sinusoidal voltages applied across electropatterned indium tin oxide-covered glass electrodes placed 60 microm apart. This tunability range was limited only by the initial grating strength and supply voltage level.
