Coronary artery aneurysms are a relatively uncommon finding during coronary angiography and can present certain challenges in terms of treatment options. This may be due to unclear underlying mechanisms and varying presentations, as well as a lack of large-scale outcome data. In this case report we present the successful use of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in treating a 43-year-old male patient who presented with acute myocardial infarction and was discovered during angiography to have a saccular coronary aneurysm.

Dodecanedioic acid (DC12) is a dicarboxylic acid present in protective polymers of fruit and leaves. We explored the effects of DC12 on metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) and obesity. DC12 supplementation (100 mg/kg/day) was added to a high-fat diet (HFD) for 8 weeks in rodents to assess its impact on obesity and MASH prevention.

Introduction The National Training Survey (NTS) is conducted annually by the General Medical Council (GMC) to monitor and report on the quality of postgraduate medical education and training. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic had a significant impact on training in cardiothoracic surgery due to the unprecedented restructuring of surgical activity across the UK. We aim to evaluate how the job satisfaction of cardiothoracic surgery trainees was impacted by COVID-19 using the National Training Survey.

Background: Immune cell metabolism governs the outcome of immune responses and contributes to the development of autoimmunity by controlling lymphocyte pathogenic potential. In this study, we evaluated the metabolic profile of myelin-specific murine encephalitogenic T cells, to identify novel therapeutic targets for autoimmune neuroinflammation.

Methods: We performed metabolomics analysis on actively-proliferating encephalitogenic T cells to study their overall metabolic profile in comparison to resting T cells.
