Background: Concerns have been expressed about the feasibility of laparoscopic right hepatectomy (Lap-RH) after portal vein occlusion (PVO), because of its technical difficulty. The aim of this study is to assess the safety and feasibility of lap-RH after PVO.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data from high-volume HPB centers was performed.
While much is known about the expression of interferon (IFN) pathways in the blood of people living with HIV (PLWH), their role in the intesinal tract has only recently been appreciated. The aim of this study was to evaluate gut mRNA expression levels of innate immune genes involved in the HIV-host interaction and their association with CD4T cell immune activation in long-term HAART-experienced PLWH. PLWH had increased intestinal levels of TLR4, type I IFN (IFN-α2, IFN-α14, IFN-β) and IFNAR1 mRNAs, as well as increased frequencies of CD4T lymphocytes expressing CD38 or HLA-DR compared to the healthy donors.

While ART has transformed HIV infection into a chronic condition, it has also unmasked long-term health complications, including an increased risk of osteoporosis and fractures. This review aims to elucidate the multifactorial mechanisms contributing to bone health deterioration in PLWH, such as direct viral effects, immune activation, and ART-induced bone metabolism changes.

This study aimed to investigate locoregional lymph node (LN) involvement, overall survival (OS), disease-free survival (DFS), and the interplay between molecular subtypes and histologic profiles regarding survival outcomes in MSI GC vs microsatellite stability (MSS) GC.
Methods: This study included 72 patients with GC who underwent surgery with or without chemotherapy from 2017 to 2023.
