Objective: This study aimed to analyze the microcirculation of the macula, the optic nerve, and the choroid in patients with migraine by optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) during spontaneous migraine attacks, comparing the findings with scans performed in the interictal period in the same subjects and healthy controls (HCs).

Methods: In this case-crossover design study, patients diagnosed with migraine who underwent an OCTA during a migraine attack were enrolled. A cohort of HCs was recruited for comparison.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aims to assess the characteristics of advanced ocular surface squamous neoplasia and eyelid tumors, as well as the effectiveness of post-operative high-dose-rate interventional radiotherapy in their management.
  • Nineteen patients with advanced cancers underwent surgery followed by HDR-IRT, delivering a total of 49 Gy in 14 fractions, focusing on local disease control as the primary outcome along with survival and toxicity as secondary outcomes.
  • Results showed local recurrences in some cases, particularly with conjunctival melanomas and squamous cell carcinoma, with a median overall survival of 56.3 months; however, treatment effectiveness varied, highlighting the need for larger multicenter studies.

Background: Among university students, migraine is notably prevalent and is linked to compromised academic performance and daily functioning. Medical students are a particularly vulnerable category due to the demanding nature of their training, as they are often exposed to headache trigger factors. We therefore aimed to determine the prevalence, characteristics, and healthcare-seeking practices of primary headaches among Italian medical students.

Purpose: The main purpose of treatment of advanced ocular surface and periocular malignant tumors is to eradicate the tumor while trying to preserve visual function and aesthetics. Our purpose is to describe the outcome of a retrospective case series of 10 patients with advanced ocular surface and periocular tumors treated surgically in first instance and then with postoperative interventional radiotherapy (IRT/Brachiterapy).

Materials And Methods: We describe the clinicopathological features, treatments and outcome, in a retrospective case series of 10 patients with advanced tumors involving ocular surface (staging ≥ T2) and eyelids (staging ≥ T3), with involvement of periocular and/or orbit tissues.
