Numerical analysis of pulsing regimes near static borders of optically injected semiconductor lasers.

It is well known that semiconductor lasers under optical injection present rich, dynamic behavior. In this paper, we focus on pulsing regimes, which can be either exploited in a broad variety of applications or lead to undesired instabilities. In particular, we develop a multi-metric method to automatically identify pulsing regimes in the parameter space.

Telecommunication operators are investing significant resources in developing passive optical networks (PONs) to meet the increasing capacity requirements. Therefore, wireless transmission has become the bottleneck for the wireless broadband internet access due to the spectrum saturation. The Wilhelm Wundt Center and the first graduate program for the history and philosophy of psychology in Brazil: A brief report.

The expansion of Brazilian universities since 2009 has promoted a general growth and incentive of scientific activities throughout the country, not only in the so-called hard sciences, but also in the human sciences. In this brief report, we announce the creation of two new institutional spaces dedicated to the history and philosophy of psychology at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) in Brazil: the Wilhelm Wundt Center for the History and Philosophy of Psychology (NUHFIP) and the Graduate Program in History and Philosophy of Psychology. Differences in cap formation between invasive Entamoeba histolytica and non-invasive Entamoeba dispar.

The rapid redistribution of surface antigen-antibody complexes in trophozoites of the human protozoan parasite Entamoeba histolytica, in a process known as capping, has been considered as a means of the parasite to evade the host immune response. So far, capping has been documented in the invasive E. histolytica, whereas the mobility of surface components in the non-invasive Entamoeba dispar is not known.

Entamoeba histolyticaelectrondense granules secretion in vitro and in vivo: ultrastructural study.

Electron dense granules (EDGs) were identified by transmission electron microscopy in Entamoeba histolytica trophozoites recovered from hamster liver lesions. Abundant granules were present in trophozoites recovered after 15 min of liver inoculation. Variation in the size and morphology of these EDGs was also observed.
