Aims: To assess whether impaired vestibular perception of self-motion is a risk factor for unsteadiness and falls in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D).
Materials And Methods: 113 participants (65-75 years old) with T2D underwent tests of roll and pitch discrimination, postural stability (Berg Balance Scale, Modified Romberg Test, and quantitative posturography), clinical examination and blood chemistry analyses. Falls 1-year after enrolment were self-reported.

The sodium counterion (Na+) of the sodium bis(2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate (AOT) surfactant was exchanged with calcium Ca2+ to investigate the counterion charge effect on the structure of water in normal decane microemulsions. Ohmic conductivity and dielectric permittivity measurements were performed on samples at constant water to surfactant mole ratio [water]/[Ca(AOT)(2)]=26.6.

Vitamin C and vitamin D3 perform different and important activities in living systems. Vitamin D3 forms stable monomolecular films at the gas/water interface and, at higher concentrations, produces large aggregates in water solutions. Because of their amphiphilic structure, vitamin C alkyl esters form monolayers, micelles, vesicles, or microemulsions in water, depending on composition, concentration, solvent, and temperature.
