Background: Medtronic Micra VR and Abbott Aveir VR are two single-chamber ventricular leadless pacemakers (L-PMs) currently available in clinical practice. They differ in their design, fixation mechanism (tine-based fixation for Micra VR, screw-in helix fixation for Aveir VR), and implantation technique. Little comparative safety data are available for these LPMs.

Aim: This study aimed to assess the frequency of parafunctional habits and self-reported temporomandibular joint (TMJ) symptoms in middle school Sicilian students (Southern Italy), their attitude to oral health, and their eventual associations with some demographical variables.

Conclusion: Parafunctional oral habits were identified as highly frequent, exerting considerable impact on oral health; a gender-specific frequency was observed. Dental practitioners should include the screening of TMDs in their routine dental examinations; caregivers and teachers should encourage correct oral behaviours in children and adolescents.

Background: Low-doses of bone modifying agents (LD-BMAs) compared to those used to treat bone metastases are used in breast or prostate cancer patients on adjuvant endocrine therapy to prevent Cancer Treatment Induced Bone Loss (CTIBL). Their use is associated with an increased risk of developing Medication-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (MRONJ). However, there is not clarity about strategies aimed to minimize the MRONJ risk in cancer patients at different conditions as low- vs high-doses of BMA.

Objective: Oral diseases, specifically malignant lesions, are serious global health concerns requiring early diagnosis for effective treatment. In recent years, deep learning (DL) has emerged as a powerful tool for the automated detection and classification of oral lesions. This research, by conducting a scoping review and meta-analysis, aims to provide an overview of the progress and achievements in the field of automated detection of oral lesions using DL.
